Outlook to IE8I have Vista Ultimate and Outlook 2007. Everytime I try to open up a
link...whether it is a link to IE or a e-mail address I get the error
message" The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect
on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I have
reset the defaults and made IE and Outlook the defaults. Please help.

This is a problem with IE, its not an Outlook error. You need to reset your
internet settings in IE's Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab. (Or Control panel, Internet options, Advanced tab). I made them all defaults. I import the reg key and nothing worked. any other solutions? -- Trigg None... other than try the IE groups as the problem is with IE.
I'm not sure which group is the best, or if there is an IE8 group - but you can start here: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general -- Show quoteHide quoteDiane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: mailto:dailytips-subscribe-requ***@lists.outlooktips.net EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: mailto:EMO-NEWSLETTER-SUBSCRIBE-REQU***@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM Let's Really Fix Outlook 2010 http://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 "Trigg" <Trigg.4928***@outlookbanter.com> wrote in message news:Trigg.492855f@outlookbanter.com... > > Sorry Diane...these did not work. > > I made them all defaults. > I import the reg key and nothing worked. > > any other solutions? > > > > > -- > Trigg I am having the same issue Diane on my system. The best bet if setting IE as default doesn't work is to
check the IE groups - it’s a problem with IE and they know more about it that we do. Do you have firefox or another browser installed? That seems to be one trigger - I don't know if it will help to uninstall it and set IE as default then reinstall it after you verify outlook works. -- Show quoteHide quoteDiane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: mailto:dailytips-subscribe-requ***@lists.outlooktips.net EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: mailto:EMO-NEWSLETTER-SUBSCRIBE-REQU***@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM Let's Really Fix Outlook 2010 http://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 "Boo" <B**@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C5450DC2-8CC4-4062-8DAB-8DA8A3F75893@microsoft.com... > I am having the same issue Diane on my system.
