Outbox constipatedJust yesterday my Outlook 2003 outbox started to accumumulate messages even
though they had been sent. That is, those messages did not get deleted from the outbox after a successful send. I deleted the accumulated messages but then the process started again. What could cause this and how do I fix it? Many thanks! Andrew
This is normal and that is how it works. When you send a message successfully then it goes into the Outbox. From there you need to delete them -- Show quoteHide quotePeter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. That's NOT normal at all. A Message should only stay in the outbox news:#b0C#mO9JHA.4900@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Andrew > > This is normal and that is how it works. When you send a message > successfully then it goes into the Outbox. if the message either cannot be sent for some reason OR the message has been tagged with "send later". In a normal send the message will BRIEFLY appear in the outbox but as soon as it's been sent it then is transferred to the Sent folder > From there you need to delete them No NO NO! If they are still in the Outbox then the OP needs to find out WHY they are still in the Outbox. It's quite possible (see above) that they haven't been sent at all.
