How can I attach note to sent e-mail

I have sent an e-mail but received a verbal reply.  I want to know if I can
add a note to the sent e-mail regarding reply verbally received.

Hi Gordon

Sorry my question was posted twice.  The first time I posted it, it said the
posting was unsuccessful. 

I am using Outlook 2003

Is the horrible web interface doing that again?
Do yourself a BIG favour and ditch the horrible web interface. Use a
news reader instead.

Same thing but in a different place. Open the message and do Edit-Edit
message.
