How to check which mail has downloaded from POP3 server - sonali guptaI am using OL2007. I have a PST file which has POP3 account's Emails. I want
to configure an another profile with the same POP3 account settings, pointing to old PST file. Mails gets duplicated in my new profile because my mails are already in PST file and it is also available on server(if Leave a copy of mail on server flag is set). So is there any way to determine which mail has downloaded from server and which has not? With the new .pst file and profile? no.
You can combine the inboxes from each .pst/profile and compare but that is too tedious for me to even wrap my head around. -- Show quoteHide quoteMilly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Please tell us the version of the application you are asking about, your OS, Service Pack level and the FULL contents of any error message(s) The question is valid for when you try to overcome mail profile corruptions,
or are recreating your mail profile for other reasons such as having reformatted your PC and are configuring Outlook again with the original pst-file. Currently, Outlook is not able to determine - for POP3 accounts - what already has been downloaded by another mail profile or on another computer and simply redownloads the entire mailbox again upon first use. -- Show quoteHide quoteRobert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "Gordon" <gordonbpar***@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:#z6AJ5SqJHA.5332@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > "sonali gupta" <sonali_gu***@persistent.co.in> wrote in message > news:ehOZmbRqJHA.5280@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >> PSTs are different, I am making copy of existing PST to use it in new >> profile > > > Well as you can't have more than one profile open on the same machine, why > not just point the new profile to the existing pst file?
