Export-ImportI successfully exported an Outlook contacts as a personal pst file. However,
when I try to import this file in Outlook on my new computer, I get a message that I am not authorized to open this file. Any way around this or to produce an "authorized" file? Did you already copy the pst-file back to the computer first? The Desktop
will do. Then from within Outlook connect to it via File-> Open-> Outlook Data File... and move the items to the location you want. -- Show quoteHide quoteRobert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "Deebee" <dee***@jhu.edu> wrote in message news:##3XPBCpJHA.2124@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > I successfully exported an Outlook contacts as a personal pst file. > However, when I try to import this file in Outlook on my new computer, I > get a message that I am not authorized to open this file. Am I doing something wrong? Contacts pane. I got fooled by that one at first... I can't find the contacts. I also tried importing the Calendar.pst file into
Outlook. It failed to import or open. I finally got the data imported to my new computer. To import the Contacts I
had to export from my old computer to a CSV file. Outlook would not import a Contacts.pst file--but the comma-delimtited file worked like a charm.
