OL 2007 (pop3) after regular archiving completed smtp stopped sending mail
through port 587. Port 25 works fine but, unfortunately I travel extensively
and need access to send through port 587.  Tried deleting and reconfiguring
account still can't send.

All ideas welcome.

Thanks,

RichC

What firewall do you use? Could it be blocking the port?

Diane,

Thanks for the reply and some very useful links to resources.  The problem
turned out to be an ISA Server 2000 firewall (SBS 2000)  incompatibility
problem with Vista. A re-running the config of ISA Server firewall in
compatibility mode solved the problem. Its time for us to upgrade to SBS
2008!

Thanks,

Rich
