Outlook 2007 Cumulative Update: is the limit on the number of members of private distribution lists

Hello,

I think I read that the Outlook 2007 Cumulative Update released a
couple of weeks ago removes the limit on the number of members that a
distribution list in a user's Contacts folder could have - does anyone
know if that it is indeed correct? I can't find any direct reference
to it on the web so maybe I misunderstood.

It's very important to us because we're migrating from another mail
system where users had private lists with hundreds of members and
we've had to tell them to use categories instead.

Thanks to anyone who could confirm this,

- Alan.

Unless you're using an Exchange mailbox to store the contacts folder, there
shouldn't be a limit on the number of DL members.  If you are using Exchange,
the limit is on the Exchange side and Outlook has nothing to do with it.

The limit in the DL in Outlook is now unlimited (it was 99). Exchange may
have a separate limit - it depends on the server config.

Now when you add more than 99 to a DL and save it Outlook asks: "This
distribution list contains more members than supported when using Outlook
2007 Service Pack 1 or earlier. Do you want to save changes to the
distribution list?"
