Outlook 2003 - Send Receive button disappeared on add of newprofilyears and have a great system of folders and saved messages. I recently added a new profile with its own email (pop3) and everything is fine. Upon opening Outlook it prompts for the profile to open and I can open both. However, when I select my 'original' profile (listed at 'Outlook' in the drop-down box presumeably because it was the original profile), all my original folders and saved messages appear, but the Send/Receive button is missing from the toolbar as well as from the Tools menu. The Send/Receive button does appear on the new profile and this profile is fully functional with the new email address. I did try and add a new profile with all the pop3 info of the original email configurations, but this profile has a new set of empty folders. It seems to work but I don't really want to download the email, because I'd like to use my existing folder system in the original profile. Is it possible to point the new profile to the original profile's folders/address book, or get that Send/Receive button working on the original profile? Any help is greatly appreciated. Just add the old PST to the new profile. File>Open>Outlook Data File. > folders/address book, or get that Send/Receive button working on the > original > profile? Make it your delivery location. Keep in mind, though, each new profile keeps track of the messages downloaded independently of any other profile. You WILL redownload all the messages in the server's Inbox. As far as the send/receive button, with Outlook closed, try deleting the file oldprofile.srs in the (ususally hidden) folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook, where "oldprofile" is the name of your old profile. You might also consider deleting the outcmd.dat file in that folder as well. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]
