archive folders dont work!Dear Forum-mates,
Since a couple of months i cannt put any email (read or unread!) in my archive folders (let say the folders which ive created under the inbox folder). Every time I drag a mail to one of the folders (doesnt matter which one!) I get the next error message: "Cann't replace Item(s). Cannot replace the Item. The item is removed or deleted or the access to the item is denied." I'm using outlook 2000, working in network environment of a company. I've xp prof. as the operating system. anybody any idea??? tnx Sam -- samuele If you have created a folder called Archive as a sub folder of your Personal
folders that is not an Archive, within the Outlook meaning of Archive. The Outlook Archive function creates a second set of Personal Folders named Archive. By default named Archive.pst. The archive runs as per the settings you set in Archive Options. You can have this Archive set open within outlook. You have simply created another folder, the name being immaterial, and are manually moving files to it Asuming you are using pst data files, locate and run scanpst.exe, the repair tool, on your data file (with outlook closed) Show quoteHide quote "samuele" <samuele.3ed7***@outlookbanter.com> wrote in message news:samuele.3ed7390@outlookbanter.com... > > Dear Forum-mates, > Since a couple of months i cannt put any email (read or unread!) in my > archive folders (let say the folders which ive created under the inbox > folder). Dear DL,
Sorry for delayed respond. I had a couple of days off :)
Indeed we use archive function of outlook and its not a simply added
folder. I've found the scanpst file and run it with the archive file
included. (ofcourse the outlook was closed!). The repair session have
produced twee new files, one is a wordpath file and the other is a .bak
file. The repair has been completed successfully but I still get the
same errors :s
it looks so hopeless :( any plan B?
thanks in advance,
Sam
