Move to folder rule is copying to folder, not moving

I set up rules to move messages from a particular sender to a particular
folder. But outlook is just copying message to folder so I end up with a
bunch of duplicate messages. I checked the rules settings and it IS set to
MOVE and not COPY. Anyone know why this might be happening?

Thanks

Try adding "stop processing more rules" to each rule, so that once a rule
acts on a particular message, no rules after it will act on that same message.

I note that (my installation of) Outlook can Move from only the Inbox, but it
can Copy from the Sent folder. Too bad, I would very much love to be able to
Move original and reply messages sent to particular addresses/individuals.

Disable the "Save sent items" option and the "Move a copy" rule when sending
an outgoing message will be a true move.  If you want to save copies of
messages that don't match the rule, you can have a catch-all rule that moves a
copy to Sent Items.
