PST now has a passwordI have a user who says she never set a password on her mail file. It now has
one that she does not know. OS Windows2000 Outlook 2003 How can the password be stripped Thanks Hi,
This problem most likely occurs because the PST file is corrupted. Some data in the file was modified and it is considered to be password-protected. There is a utility called scanpst.exe (or the Inbox Repair Tool) that you can use check for corruption and possibly repair the PST file. For more information, please refer to the following Knowledge Base article. How to use the Inbox Repair Tools to recover e-mail messages in Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003 (287497) http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;287497 Regards, Scott Atkins MCSE, MCSA Partner Technical Lead - Outlook Microsoft Technical Support for Platforms and Business Applications -------------------- Show quoteHide quote >From: "Lou Newby" <some***@microsoft.com> nntp.giganews.com!news-out.octanews.net!teal.octanews.net!bbnews1.unisys.com!trsvr.tr.unisys.com!not-for-mail>Newsgroups: microsoft.public.outlook >Subject: PST now has a password >Date: Wed, 22 Jun 2005 12:47:04 -0400 >Organization: Unisys Tredyffrin >Lines: 9 >Message-ID: <d9c4l7$qu***@trsvr.tr.unisys.com> >NNTP-Posting-Host: ustr-newbyle.na.uis.unisys.com >X-Trace: trsvr.tr.unisys.com 1119458791 27601 192.63.210.129 (22 Jun 2005 16:46:31 GMT) >X-Complaints-To: use***@tr.unisys.com >NNTP-Posting-Date: Wed, 22 Jun 2005 16:46:31 +0000 (UTC) >X-Priority: 3 >X-MSMail-Priority: Normal >X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2180 >X-RFC2646: Format=Flowed; Original >X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.2180 >Path: TK2MSFTNGXA01.phx.gbl!TK2MSFTNGP08.phx.gbl!newsfeed00.sul.t-online.de!t-online.de!border2.nntp.dca.giganews.com!border1.nntp.dca.giganews.com!
