How do I combine recovered pst files?

Steve Smith

My hard drive crashed, my data was corrupted and after running data recovery
software, I've recovered 74 pst files. I can load each of these files and
see my data, but I want to combine these files. How can I do this? I'm using
Outlook 2003.

The only way, I believe, would be within OL import. However many reccommend
not using Import/Export features, because often corruption occurs.
That being the case you would have to open all pst's within OL and copy
between pst's

Thanks for your reply. Will OL import let me import multiple pst files at
once? If so, I'd like to try it. If corruption occurs, I'll try to fix it
with the inbox repair utility. If I must open each of the 74 files one at a
time, do I just drag and drop my messages and contacts? WIll this add them
ot my Outlook.pst file?

Mary

It's better to use File, Open instead of Import. Then, with both files open,
you can move anything into the main file. It's a good idea to give your
personal folders diff names, so you can distinguish between them.

One at a time, I'm afraid.

Yes and yes. For the non-default folders, you can move or copy entire
folders. FOr the default folders, you'll have to open them one at a time,
select all the items in each, and move or copy them to the appropriate
folder in your delivery PST.
