Outlook Address Book closes while using mousewith Exchange Server. Hello all, A couple weeks ago the following started to happen in Outlook AND Publisher 2003. No other programs experience this. First of all Outlook. If you open outlook and then click tools then address book and then click the drop down box under "Show Names from the:" and choose an address book from there with the mouse, Outlook closes up with an error signature: Appname: outlook.exe Appver 11.0.8217.0 AppStamp: 480f95d9 ModName: user32.dll ModVer 5.1.2600.5512 ModStamp: 4802a11b fDebug: 0 Offset 00052dee but, if you open outlook, and then click on tools and then click on address book and then push Alt S and use your up and down arrows to choose an address book, it won't close up on you. I'll ask some place else for Publisher, but I have to believe there is a chance it is somehow related. Any suggestions? I found one other occurance of this same thing on Google, but it was just a post asking the same question and telling exactly what I found. Thanks oops meant to add the following:
The following is what I have tried: Different profiles (doesn't matter which profile you use, it does the same thing) Repaired Outlook 2003 Unistalled Outlook 2003 and reinstalled Updated Outlook 2003 Updated Microsoft Office Updated Publisher and did a repair. Checked permissions on the drive, gave all full, no changes. Still get the same errors gmc This is a very common problem which Microsoft claims they cannot reproduce
and therefore cannot solve. Anecdotal reports claim the following may help: 1. Look for and correct a corrupt address in the Contacts displayed in the Outlook Address Book (especially if the crash at the same place when scrolling). 2. Remove then re-add the Outlook Address Book Service or, better yet, create a new Outlook profile. 3. Update your video drivers. Most people seem to find no solution. -- Show quoteHide quoteRuss Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "GMC" <gcole***@legalassistdump.org> wrote in message news:OoDfWdCTJHA.1560@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Windows XP (SP3 all patched up) with Outlook 2003 Version 11.8217.8221 SP3 > with Exchange Server. > > Hello all, > > A couple weeks ago the following started to happen in Outlook AND > Publisher 2003. I guess a "Thanks Microsoft" is in order. Whew, and I looked all
day for something to "fix".. I think I'll just reformat the machine and start over, maybe that would help. Such a pain to try to remember to use Alt S when you open those two programs. Thank you Russ. I won't spend anymore time looking for a fix.
