mapi could not be openedI tried to export data from windows live mail to outlook xp,

You create one under Control Panel->Mail Icon->Profiles. it has nothing to do with your .pst file.

outlook , but in this case it was not active. However thro Control Panel->Mail Icon->Profiles , did manage to create a profile, then went to outlook express > exported to the new profile, the export process said it finished successfully, but on opening outlook, it is empty.
